Bookseer

Terms of use

Last updated: July 4, 2026

These terms govern your use of the Bookseer app and the bookseer.app website (the "Service"). By using the Service you agree to them. The Service is operated by Individual Entrepreneur Nicoleta Climanova, Bălți, Republic of Moldova ("we", "us").

1. What the Service is

Bookseer offers a weekly reading: after you answer a short questionnaire, the Service recommends three existing books, each with an explanation of why it may matter to you now. The first reading is free, once per device. Further readings require a subscription and are limited to one per calendar week.

2. What the Service is not

Readings are literary recommendations, offered for reflection. They are not medical, psychological, legal, or financial advice, and they are not a substitute for professional help. If you are in crisis, please contact a qualified professional or a local emergency service.

3. Subscription and payment

4. No account

The Service has no user accounts. Your subscription itself, verified through the App Store, is your access. Your reading history is kept linked to an anonymous hash of your subscription's identifier so it can be restored on a new device, as described in the privacy policy.

5. Honest recommendations

Every recommended book is verified to exist against public book catalogs before it reaches you. No publisher or bookseller pays for placement in a reading. If the Service ever includes links to buy books and earns a commission on them, this will not affect which books are recommended.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to abuse the Service: no attempts to circumvent the weekly or per-device limits, probe or overload our systems, reverse engineer the Service, or use it to build a competing dataset. We may block access that does this; blocking a paid subscription is a last resort, and Apple's refund process remains available to you.

7. Your readings

Your readings are composed for you. You may share them privately or publicly (screenshots are welcome). The texts of recommended books belong to their authors and publishers; a reading recommends a book, it does not reproduce it.

8. Disclaimer and liability

The Service is provided as is, without warranties of any kind, to the extent permitted by law. We do not promise that a particular book will help, that the Service will be uninterrupted, or that a reading will always arrive on schedule. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim related to the Service is limited to the amount you paid for it in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, or deprives you of mandatory consumer protections of your country of residence.

9. Changes

We may update the Service and these terms. If a change to the terms is material, the new version will be posted here with a new date, and continued use of the Service after that constitutes acceptance.

10. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Moldova. Before any formal proceeding, please write to us first: most disagreements can be resolved by email within thirty days. Disputes that cannot are subject to the courts of the Republic of Moldova, except where mandatory consumer law lets you bring proceedings where you live.
